Introduction

The OTbase Discovery Executable and OTbase Mobile Discovery software is designed for scenarios where, for practical reasons, you cannot discover a computer system remotely via WinRM (Windows) or SSH (Linux) or install a service. To remedy the situation, you can run the software without installation directly on that system, even from an USB stick. It does not require any inbound network access. Just like the standard OTbase Discovery product, it will provide asset details as a file.

The difference between OTbase Discovery Executable and OTbase Mobile Discovery is as follows:

• OTbase Discovery Executable is configured via a terminal window
• OTbase Mobile Discovery is configured via a Windows user interface that also displays asset data.

Both products will only discover the system that they are running on; they do not perform any further network discovery. Another difference from the standard Discovery version is that configuration is done via user input after you start the programm.
