OTbase Discovery Agent comes with its own user interface that you can launch locally on Windows or remotely from OTbase Discovery Manager.
The user interface allows you to configure the agent easily, and it also presents the data discovered by the agent.
When launching the user interface, you will be prompted for access credentials. The default credentials are admin/langner. After successful authentication you will see a screen similar to the screenshot below.
Activating data flow collection
After initial installation, the data flow collection (Sankey diagram widget in the lower right corner) is turned off. In order to enable data flow collection, click on the widget's Edit button and check the checkbox in the dialog that opens.
The Sankey diagram shows which protocols are used accessing three different kind of network catagories:
- Within the local subnet -- Local
- Routed into another private subnet -- Private
- Public Internet access -- Public.
Changing access credentials
In order to change access credentials, click on the Lock button in the Device Details widget.
CPU and memory consumption time chart
For CPU and memory consumption you can pop up a time chart by pressing the chart button.
Probing and Export settings
In order to refresh data, simply click on the refresh button in the Probing and Export widget.
The Download button allows you to save configuration details for upload to OTbase Inventory or to the OTbase Snapshot service.
Exporting configuration details can be done automatically by applying the appropriate changes in the configuration dialog. For OTbase Inventory you would normaly use HTTPS upload, whereas for OTbase Snapshot and OTbase Cloud you would use "File" (for local file storage, in order to then manually upload the resulting file).
Remember that before uploading asset information to OTbase, it is very important to set location ID values properly.
