Asset Discovery can digest NetFlow and SFlow data, which is then associated with each individual device. Where data flow information is available, it can be inspected in Asset Discovery by selecting a device and then selecting "Data Flow" in the drop-down menu in the right pane. Data flow inspection options are even much better in Asset Center. As an example, data flow will also be shown in network profiles.
Every Asset Discovery node accepts NetFlow and SFlow data with no user intervention, but note that this has to be activated during installation.
You can send multiple NetFlow or SFlow streams from multiple switches and routers to an Asset Discovery node, but keep in mind that the present architecture is not designed to handle huge data volumes, and that added processing load might require a dedicated hosting environment for Asset Discovery (rather than having it sit on an engineering station, for example).
If an Asset Discovery node collects NetFlow or SFlow data, it is indicated in the status line at the bottom of the window.
