Welcome to the OTbase Onboarding Program!

This program is designed as a comprehensive step-by-step manual to assist you in setting up the OTbase  OT asset management software efficiently and effectively. Tailored for first-time users, it provides a foundational setup with the core product components up and running, in the shortest amount of time possible.

System Architecture

Before we start let's review the major components of the software that we will cover in this program.

• OTbase Inventory is the central database where your OT asset data will be stored. OTbase Inventory does not come with internal mechanisms to collect asset information; as it is, it's just an empty shell, waiting to be filled with data from OTbase Discovery.
• OTbase Discovery is the de-central component that actively discovers OT asset information. While OTbase Discovery does have a user interface, it is only intended for configuration, and not for actually inspecting your asset data. Our aim is to install OTbase Discovery properly, which will then allow you to inspect asset details in OTbase Inventory.

There are additional product components, such as OTbase Discovery Manager, and connectors for various third-party software products such as ServiceNow, but those will not be covered in this Program. Don't worry, there is ample information on how to install and use those other components.
