The actual configuration of which emails are sent and when takes place in MAINTENANCE/Email Templates in the "Templates" tab.
General
every 24 hours | every 7 days | on Import
When you want the notification to be triggered. The major difference you can configure is a scheduled trigger (such as every Friday) as opposed to a trigger on import. A scheduled trigger will result in periodic emails and reflects the information that you also see on the HOME page. A trigger on import will send notifications about new devices or configuration changes immediately when they are detected, i.e., on import. Note that the import trigger may result in lots of emails, especially during the deployment phase of OTbase. A scheduled trigger, on the other hand, makes sure that events are consolidated into a single email.
If you do not choose a start date OTbase will assume the current time to be the start date. Note that the start date may differ to the time the emails are sent out if the time zone of your system is different than the time zone of the OTbase server.
Recipients
You can add specific users or local user groups (LDAP groups are presently not supported) to receive email notifications. Please note that you can add users without known email addresses, but they will not receive emails.
Content
There is a predefined Subject and Body text for the emails which you can change to preference. The body text is static and just acts as a brief information about the actual notification content, which is contained in a PDF attachment.
Finally you can choose which reports to append.
- For the periodic reports every report from the dropdown could be generated, depending on what information the user would see on the HOME page.
- For the “on Import” trigger only “Configuration changes” and “New devices” will be created.
