The software inventory can be accessed by clicking on the SOFTWARE item in the inventory sidebar. By default this will take you to the list of installed software products.
In the output listings, color codes are used to identify certain software categories. As an example, engineering software is marked in magenta, whereas SCADA/HMI software is marked in yellow.
A click on the Installations tab will take you to the list of all installed instances. This list doesn't only show software products and their installation numbers, but also the devices on which the software is installed. In essence, it is a device listing that you can filter by installed software products. This listing is better suited if you want to limit the output to specific locations, OT systems etc., and also want to be able to filter by device attributes.
You can limit the scope of the device listing by clicking on Scope, thereby extending the scope selector pane.
In the scope selector, narrow down the scope of devices by specifying location, process association, device group, network, or any combination thereof. If you want to reset the limit of a given dimension, simply click on the dimension's name (for example, click on Location if you want to reset a location filter).
Note: that you can re-arrange the column layout by drag-and-drop. You can also hide and reveal certain columns by right-clicking in the filter bar.
Stored views
Chances are that you use some filter settings more or less regularly. In this case you can store your settings as views that you can re-load easily. This is what the Manage Views button is all about.
After you have filtered and sorted your software installations list appropriately, click the Manage Views button, which brings up the following dialog.
Here you can give your view a name and also decide if the view is private or public. If you select public, other users can use the view as well.
In order to load a stored view, open the drop-down right next to Manage Views and select the desired view.
After loading your view, all filter, sort and scope settings will be restored. The scope selector will expand automatically, allowing you to see the scope selections of the view.
Exporting results
To export the result list to Excel, click the Excel Export button in the command bar. To export as a Portable Inventory Data JSON file, click the JSON Export button.
