The REPORTS page, which is accessible from the main menu, gives you access to various report types and dashboards. Reports are separated in three areas that you see on the left sidebar:
- Device reports
- Policy compliance reports
- Vulnerability reports.
Any of these three pages is divided in two sections, an upper section with a configurable dashboard, and a lower section with a list of available reports.
In order to open a report (in a new browser window), double-click the respective entry in the lower section. If the report is assigned to a dashboard widget, you may also double-click on the widget in order to open the report.
Sharing reports
Clicking on the link symbol in the upper right corner of the report will copy the report's URL to your clipboard. This gives you a way to share a report with other OTbase users.
The advantage of sharing a report's URL rather than a PDF or Excel table is that users will always see up to date data. That data is also subject to access control because users will only see information according to the access rights that are configured for them in OTbase Inventory.
Populating and configuring the dashboards
In order to populate the dashboards, simply select a report in the lower section and click on the widget that you want to represent that report. The core metric of the report (number of devices, number of non-compliant devices, or number of vulnerabilities) will then be displayed as a numeric value in the widget, and the development of the metric over time will be shown as a graph in the background.
In addition to numerical values, you can opt to show one of the donut charts that are displayed in the respective report – for example, the distribution of reference locations or device types. In order to do this, open the context menu for a widget and click the Top radio button. From there, you can then select the type of chart that you want to see in that widget.
Additional configuration settings are available if you bring up the context menu for a dashboard with right-click.
Setting a target value will result in that target value being represented by a thin orange line, and any actual values above or below the target (depending on the target type) will be exposed in orange.
