The OTbase Inventory installation process for Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes environments is significantly streamlined by their dedicated install scripts. These scripts automate the installation and configuration of OTbase Inventory, ensuring a smooth and error-free setup.
Locating the Install Script
The install script comes bundled with OTbase Inventory and is used to install and setup OTbase Inventory on your system. Extract the folder contents to an accessible location. We recommend the desktop.
The Install Script comes in 3 flavors one for Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes, denoted in yellow, in the image below.
Executing the Install Script
Open a new terminal window from the folder location or navigate to the script location via the terminal.
The chart below identifies which version of the Install Script you should use, based on your environment.

Install Script Progress
The install script will execute several tasks such as performing a backup, creating a new docker container with the OTbase image, and starting the container.
Installation Complete
After running the install script on the host machine you can verify that OTbase Inventory has been installed by visiting the hostname or IP address in your browser. You should see the OTbase login page.
