Program usage

Using OTbase XLSX Writer is extremely simple. Just follow these steps.

1. Export desired asset data from OTbase Asset Center

In OTbase Asset Center, go to INVENTORY/DEVICES and filter the result set that you want to report on. In order to do this, use the Scope pane (for example, to filter for assets at one particular site or one particular network), and the other filter options.

After you have checked in the device table that the result set is as desired, export asset data by clicking on "JSON Export".

The result file will be placed in your download folder and start with the name "OTbase Devices".

2. Start OTbase XLSX Writer

Start OTbase XLSX Writer, usually by clicking on the program icon on your Desktop. OTbase XLSX Writer will open its main window.

3. Select an input file

Click on the "select input file" button. A file selector dialog pops up, asking you for the input file. Specify the file that you previously exported from OTbase Asset Center.

4. Select an ouput file

Click on the "select output file" button. A file selector dialog pops up, asking you for the output file. Specify the file (name) that you want your asset data to be stored in.

5. Start writing the XLSX file

The last step is to start the XLSX file creation by simply clicking on "Start".

6. Exit OTbase XLSX Writer

Exit the program by clicking "Exit".
