All Inventory access permissions are set in USERS/GROUPS.
Setting appropriate permissions for each user role is essential for protecting sensitive data and system configurations in OTbase Inventory. This article provides a guide on managing these permission settings.
Understanding Permission Fields
OTbase Inventory uses two dimensions for access control: Global inventory access rights and Partial inventory access rights. Global access rights determine basic viewing and editing permissions. Partial access rights can be set to grant more rights to specific parts of the inventory, like devices at a particular site.
Creating A Group & Setting Permissions
In OTbase Inventory, go to the Users section from the main menu.
Select Groups to get to the groups section.
In the Groups section, click Add to create a new group
Fill in the required information for the highlighted section and set the Global Inventory Access and Partial Inventory Access rights as per the group's role and responsibilities.
Confirm and save the permission settings using the Save button.
