Introduction to OTbase Discovery Agent

The OTbase Discovery Agent is designed for a scenario where, for practical reasons, you cannot discover a computer system remotely via WinRM (Windows) or SSH (Linux). To remedy the situation, you can install the OTbase Discovery Agent on that system. It runs as a local service and does not require any inbound network access. Just like the standard OTbase Discovery product, it will provide asset details either in the form of a direct upload to OTbase Inventory, or as a file.

The important thing to note is that the Discovery Agent will only discover the system that it is running on; it does not do any further network discovery. Starting with OTbase Discovery Agent v2.5, OTbase Discovery Agent Client is used to configure the Agent. Discovery Agent Client is automatically installed with the Agent.
