Tags are about putting devices into groups that share common characteristics that in some way are important for users. You can use any kind and any number of tags that make sense for you.
As an example, let's assume we want to tag a couple of devices for upcoming inspection. In order to do this, we select the devices in question in the device inventory using Shift-click or Ctrl-click and then click Edit.
In the Edit dialog, select the Tag tab and click on Add tags. Then enter your tag in the Add tag input field, if the tag doesn't exist already. Hit Enter and click on Save. Your devices are now tagged.
In order to retrieve devices with specific tags, click on Tags. In the dialog box that opens, locate your tag in the list of tags. If your list is very long, you may type the first characters of your tag in the Add Tag input field, which will filter the list of available tags.
After you have clicked your tag, it will be moved in the upper box of the dialog box. Apply the tag filter by cklicking Filter.
Your device list is now filtered and only shows devices with your tag. As an indication that the result list is filtered by tags, the Tag button is highlighted in orange.
When you open a device profile of one of the tagged devices, it will now also show your tag in the Tags section.
